This Report is a result an Inquiry into electronic invoicing (‘eInvoicing’) in the UK public sector, headed by Stephen McPartland, MP.
It explores the benefits and barriers of eInvoicing, how it is currently used in the private sector and in other countries.
It proposes a series of recommendations that could beimplemented by policymakers to encourage greater adoption. This in turn would support SMEs and help stimulate economic growth throughout the regions and champion the UK as a global leader in this area.
We live in a world driven by digital innovation where efficiency and productivity benchmark new standards and expectations for business. Whilst the UK has some way to go in matching the most efficient countries in the use of eInvoicing in the public sector, the challenges are not insurmountable if the political will exists.
