We have a wide spread of experience in providing fire advisory services within the public and private sector environment.
Members of our fire advisory team have specific experience of working across almost all industry sectors and have experience of the education, healthcare, retail, office and commercial, leisure, manufacturing, warehousing, telecommunications and automotive sectors. We have provided detailed design advice for specific elements of projects plus legislative advice and compliance checking for complete projects.

Malcolm Arnold House, St Andrew’s Hospital, Northampton
Provision of advice regarding sprinkler system specification and design in support of Rolton Group’s civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design services during the construction of a medium secure mental healthcare facility.
BMW Group, Plant 34, Oxford
Provision of means of escape analysis for extension to large automotive manufacturing plant.
The existing facility has travel distances generally in accordance with the Building Regulations. An extension to the facility was proposed which would increase travel distances to around 100m. Rolton Fire produced a study to assess whether this increase would compromise the means of escape. Fire load within the existing facility was assessed and analysis undertaken to ascertain whether all personnel can safely evacuate the space should a fire occur.
Wykes Engineering Company Limited, Rushden
Provision of fire safety strategy and fire risk assessment for meat and bone meal bulk storage facility.
Honda of the UK Manufacturing Limited, Swindon
Provision of fire strategy addendum for extension to large automotive manufacturing plant.
Proposed extension to plant extended the travel distances within the combined building. Rolton Fire produced an Addendum to Honda’s existing fire strategy including smoke calculations, performance specifications for fire detection and suppression systems etc, in order to justify the safety of the extended building.
Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Trust, Birmingham
Role: Provision of fire safety advice to numerous healthcare facilities within the Trust.
Overview: Provision of advice including Firecode compliance studies, advice regarding installation of cavity smoke barriers and fire compartmentation surveys both within the Children’s Hospital main site and within a medium secure mental health unit and provision of Fire advisor.
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Addenbrooke’s Hospital
Provision of fire safety advice to hospital facilities team over a long-term on-going basis.
Rolton Fire has provided numerous fire safety advisory services including fire risk assessments and fire compartmentation surveys within the majority of the existing hospital building units. In addition, we have provided Firecode compliance studies to new-build projects on their site.
Duston School, Northamptonshire Schools Partnership, Northampton
Role: Provision of fire engineering advice to design team.
Overview: This project involved the compilation of a qualitative design review (QDR) of the Architect’s conceptual design of a new secondary school in Northamptonshire.
