As a recognised market leader for over twenty five years, we have an enviable reputation which extends to criminal litigation in all its spheres. From three offices in Greater Manchester, the extensive team of fee earners offers unparalleled breadth and depth of expertise both in the area and nationally.
One of the largest general criminal departments in the country is complemented by specialist departments. The firm is the largest of the Legal Services Commission Crime providers in Greater Manchester and clients range from a number of national corporations, government departments, public service unions, local authorities, celebrities from the worlds of sport and entertainment to the private individual.
We boast a total of nine solicitors with rights in higher courts and provide a now seamless service through our dedicated Crown Court advocacy unit. In addition several principals have held posts as prosecuting solicitors or barristers.
Our structure and experience allows us to provide both defence and enforcement legal services again across the whole spectrum of the criminal law and related regulatory and conduct issues.
In health and safety and environmental law we have been involved in all aspects ranging from investigations and prosecutions for minor breaches of the regulations through to a number of cases involving gross negligence manslaughter.
Recent years have seen the growth of criminal allegations against medical and nursing staff relating to the care of patients in their charge and we are regularly instructed by their and other professional bodies and public service unions in relation to such matters in addition to related disciplinary proceedings.
We operate a substantial road traffic law department and are able to conduct cases nationally in relation to transport regulations and offences. We have prosecuted over 500 cases of unlawful plying for hire relating to taxis, which set the precedents on which all local authorities now base their prosecutions.
Our commitment to the use of technology in case management is entrepreneurial and innovative and we are able to work with clients to achieve the most cost effective and efficient process.
