Reprographics - Pushing the boundaries of flexographic printing

Our reprographics and pre-press department is the envy of the label printing industry. Following a significant investment in software and hardware we can;

•Reproduce intricate designs including vignettes and halftones to achieve product stand-out
•Produce environmentally smart flexographic plates every 12 minutes resulting in a flexible and reactive service for our customers
•Receive and post customer artwork via our ftp online service. Delivering a speedy and controlled sign-off process
•Provide full colour cromalin digital proofs for accurate approval prior to print

Design Consultation

Our ethos is to produce the best possible results from our customers artwork. What works for Litho or Gravure may not work for Flexo and vice versa, with this in mind we are always happy to advise and guide them through the design process. Americk Systems Labelling Repro operators are fully conversant with all print disciplines and so are able to offer best practice advice.

Repro

Advanced screening techniques enable us to extract the very best results from our clients' designs. The Kodak Hyperflex Resolution Enhancement Technology has allowed us to achieve excellent halftones and vignettes enabling customers to submit complex designs to achieve maximum stand-out. Kodak Maxtone Hybrid Screening is modulated technology that delivers enhanced detail, smooth vignettes and improved highlight reproduction by allowing our prepress operators to restrict the minimum dot size and control the number of highlight dots in a frequency modulated-like manner. Our DuPont Cromalin blue3 digital proofing system provides our clients with full colour proofs for an accurate representation of the finished label prior to print.

Pre-press

The production of our flexographic plates has been revolutionised following the commissioning of a Kodak Thermoflex platesetter. The installation has been accompanied by the new DuPont Cyrel FAST system which has eliminated the use of solvents during the plate-making process. Make-ready times and wastage has been reduced and run-lengths increase pre-production capacity, providing obvious benefits to our customers. The working environment for our pre-press team has improved as there are no solvents to handle, store or recycle.

Pdf/Print Comparison

We have installed an  EyeC Proofiler™, an offline automated print inspection system performing sample tests for content verification and quality control. Put simply this means that the very same pdf that our customer passes is electronically compared to a scanned final print sample. With barcode verification as part of the process it has proved an invaluable addition to our QC department.
