General recruitment

We have a recruitment team dedicated to delivering recruitment services on behalf of clients from all industries.

If you are a prospective client looking for agency workers and/or recruitment services in Newcastle and the North East, we are keen to build links with clients from as many different industries as possible. We have portfolios of strong candidates that can be booked on a short term, temporary, fixed term, long term or permanent basis. With our booking line remaining open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week, we can respond to urgent staffing situations in minutes. Nineteen Recruitment, on average, places candidates within fifteen minutes of a booking in an urgent staffing situation, demonstrating the dependable and reliable service we can offer you and your company.

Education recruitment

Formally an agency just dedicated to supply teaching, it is only until relatively recently that we have developed our services to include other industries and sectors. However, our passion about education remains extremely strong and we are, perhaps, most proud of our work within the education sector over the last couple of years.

Nineteen works with, and supplies, the full range of teaching practitioners and non-teaching staff to primary, middle and secondary schools, colleges and universities from right across the North East, North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands. All of our teaching and non-teaching staff are subject to the same, rigorous and thorough verification process in line with the DfE guidance on ‘Safer Recruitment’. References are sought, identity and personal information checks are made and candidates’ professional backgrounds and qualifications are scrutinised to ensure that all of our clients and their pupils receive the highest quality of candidates

Teacher Support Team

Our office in Cobalt Business Park is home to our ‘Teacher Support Team’. This particular team focuses on teacher development, monitoring the quality of teaching from our candidates, providing practical advice, encouragement and support, mentoring newly qualified teachers or those that have taken a break from the profession and are returning to it again and delivering programmes of training. The Teacher Support Team is made up of ex-Teachers who are extremely experienced in a range of key areas. Our Support Team works closely with candidates, helping them with areas that they feel they need to develop; whether this is lesson planning, assessment, behaviour management strategies or any other aspects of the role, the candidates are fully supported until they feel their training needs have been adequately met. The Teacher Support Team are available Monday to Friday 9am-5pm so there is always practical help and support accessible at all times.

At Nineteen we run our own internal performance management team to help track the quality of teaching from candidates who are placed in schools on a fixed term or long term contract beyond a term. A member of our Teacher Support Team will observe a lesson by the candidate and offer detailed, in depth feedback to the candidate afterwards. The feedback then informs any training needs that may be identified and a training programme is put in place if necessary. This is all done to ensure a consistently high quality of teaching amongst our candidates.

If you are a school, college or university and you would like to speak to us about booking a candidate, please don’t hesitate to contact Michael, Head of Operations, on 0191 280 5802. If you are a teaching professional and you would like to register with Nineteen for career opportunities, please register here  or alternatively you can contact Moira on 0191 280 5802. There is always a member of the team on call outside of office hours so don’t hesitate to contact us no matter what the time.

Health and social care recruitment

Nineteen Recruitment specialises in health and social care recruitment, delivering recruitment services to clients from these industries and supplying agency workers to clients such as care homes, residential homes for children and vulnerable adults, local authorities and charities.

We supply the full range of health and social care professionals including nurses, clinical lead nurses, care assistants, residential workers, social workers, social work assistants and many more.

Our key services for you

Nineteen can offer two key services to clients. We can offer flat fee recruitment packages that include the full range of recruitment services from constructing the vacancy advertisement to advertising on key job boards online, from assessing each individual application manually to developing a shortlist of candidates that meet the criteria for the position. Our Recruitment Consultants also develop an evaluative report that summarises the key strengths of each shortlisted applicant to make the rest of the recruitment process as easy and as less time consuming as possible for the client. Our team can also interview candidates on the client’s behalf and do the full verification checks for the successful applicant. Nineteen can offer this full package for less than you would pay for one vacancy advert on some of the higher profile job boards online. It is one of the most cost effective recruitment solutions on offer, saving clients time, effort and money.

We have an extensive portfolio of candidates that work for us on an agency basis for short term, temporary and fixed term contracts. We offer some of the most competitive hourly and daily charges for our candidates whilst maintaining highly competitive rates of pay for them. It is important to us that the hard work of our candidates is recognised through fair and honest pay and conditions.

The best candidates

Our health and social care clients are extremely important to us. We appreciate that these clients have a very difficult job to do and that they have to have a reliable and effective team of staff to help them to deliver their services effectively. All of our health and social care candidates are subject to an extremely thorough verification process. This involves scrutiny of professional and personal background, scrutiny of identity documents; identity, qualification, right to work, DBS and registration checks and references. We would never place a candidate in a health or social care environment without successfully completing the verification process. We have high expectations of our candidates and as such expect their high quality practice to be reflected in their professional references.

Our recruitment team make an effort to familiarise themselves with our health and social care clients and their organisations so that they can assess which candidates would work best and be most suited to the role and to the environment in which the position is in. We are committed to getting placements right the first time and this means that we take the time and make the effort to successfully match placements with the most suitable candidate for the role.
