Public Sector Overview

We have worked in several schools projects across the UK installing aspects of School ICT in green field environments as well as enhancements and upgrades. Some of our engineers also worked on the N3, Lorenzo, COINs and several other NHS projects including a major DC consolidation project a few years ago. In addition to the back end we also have experience of working in Trusts ensuring best security practices for integration of new services.

Client List

NHS - As part of a larger team, SpirIT provided technical consultancy for large data centre consolidation projects and new application architecture projects. The primary objective was to reduce running costs and complexity whilst remaining within strict government guidelines. Our work involved the N3/COINS, Lorenzo and several other applications including iSOFT,  RIS/PACS and toolkits applications.

NET (Nishkam Education trust) Schools - SpirIT provided installation, essential design and architecture input as well as strategic assistance with funding of the new schools in the Handsworth area. This was a green field project and included working with PFS and the internal NET management team to help build a successful set of schools. SpirIT was directly involved with the Nursery, the Primary and elements of the further education project.

Testimonials

Changing Faces

SpirIT UK successfully tendered for our IT support contract in summer 2012.  We were impressed by the understanding of our particular circumstances that they demonstrated.  It was clear that changes to certain infrastructure arrangements were necessary, and that they had a clear vision of where we needed to get to, but they did would not force us to make changes faster than we could handle.

They now provide a consistently responsive and high quality service, dealing promptly and extremely courteously at all times with the full range of issues that arise - from niggly hassles with printers through to the wholesale transition of our entire organisation between email systems.

They have been particularly generous with their time on matters which are borderline to the scope of the contract, such as security issues arising from statutory contracts, and telephone/mobile considerations.  Careful attention to the security matters has ensured that we have successfully managed the risk of losing NHS contract income.  They respond speedily to ad hoc requests for information from statutory contract partners enabling us to provide technical answers in a timely manner and thereby maintain good relationships with current and prospective statutory partners.

Whereas prior to their appointment “IT issues” featured consistently, for years, on responses to our annual Staff Survey, as something that needed to be improved, since SpirIT have been appointed, these have hardly been mentioned.  This reflects the professional manner in which they communicate with the staff, patiently explaining sometimes highly technical issues in non-technical terms.

In addition, SpirIT have been instrumental in directly and indirectly raising funds for Changing Faces.  They encouraged another of their clients to raise funds for Changing Faces in a sponsored walk, which raised £960 for us and the Director (not hitherto a runner) has run in the London 10K and the London Marathon, raising £2,439.

Changing our IT support arrangements has had one of the biggest positive infrastructure impacts in the last 20 years on how staff feel about working for Changing Faces as they now know that the IT provision is much more reliable and any issues they have get dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

  Nubian Life

Nubian Life happened across SpirIT UK, when we needed a detailed assessment and review of our IT systems due to the possibility of external hacking. I will always be glad that I somehow managed to pick them out of an IT directory with hundreds of companies listed.

My first panic call was met with calmness, patience and a level of care that brought tears to my eyes given the stressful situation we were in.   The process we needed to go through was explained and we were constantly reassured by the company that they would help us get things sorted.  Our fears were not dismissed, and a considerable amount of their time was invested in reassuring us that our system was now safe after their intervention.

SpirIT UK were open and honest about their charges, nothing was hidden. The qualities of service and response times are unrivaled in our opinion.  Members of staff are qualified and experienced in their roles, and their customer service is genuine.   After their intervention, we received a flying visit from the Account Managers, (I mean flying in that one of the Managers flew in from Scotland) both account managers arrived with smiles and cakes. To this end we receive a personal, cost effective and quality service from a company, where it’s the norm to go the extra mile.

SpirIT UK has continued to support Nubian Life and for the past two years they have joined our Nu LifeStyle group (people with long term health conditions) raise funds for other charities; as part of our ethos “People Purpose Passion”

In March 2013, staff members joined our group for a 5k sponsored walk, they sponsored our refreshments and helped in raising over £2,000 for Changing Faces and this year helped us raised over £300 from a Coffee morning for the Winnicott Foundation

SpirIT UK’s support has enabled has to have a safe and smooth running IT system; but more importantly, through their genuine kindness, have helped us meet our goals of encouraging our members with long term health conditions, live more rewarding lives by helping others.

I can tell you that SpirIT UK were a Godsend. They came in and overhauled our groaning ICT system ; always with our best interests at heart. As a charity we have a number of financial constraints as you will appreciate; wherever SpirIT can supply us with cheaper but quality value items (software/ hardware/ Comms support) they have. The overall response to tickets raised is generally within half an hour. They have negotiated contracts and disputes for us, not part of the package, and resolved a number of issues. They really are ethical ICT and they will go the extra mile for you.

In addition to contracted services, SpirIT have supported us with their physical presence (a number of their team took part in our sponsored walk in 2013) and in other ways with our fundraising activities, donating money to Changing Faces and Queen Charlotte's Hospital.

CIIP

ACCC Ltd. is the UK subsidiary of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, a registered charity in Canada.  We work with prospective immigrants to provide free information, planning and referral services to enable them to become economically (and socially) successful as quickly as possible.

As a small (under 10 staff), government-funded organization, we have limited resources.  At the same time, however, we are heavily dependent on our IT infrastructure not only to maintain close contact with our sister offices in India, China the Philippines and Canada, but also to deliver our services online to eligible individuals no matter where they are located around the world.

We initially hired SpirIT UK because they had been recommended by an UN organization working in our field.  We were impressed from the outset by the emphasis they placed on understanding our work in order to serve us as well as possible.  Time has confirmed that their interest was sincere and not simply part of the sales pitch.

In the second year of our contract with SpirIT UK, we suffered budget cuts and thus had to downgrade the IT support package.  Despite this fiscal reduction, SpirIT UK has maintained an interest in what we do and has been just as responsive as ever to meeting our needs, particularly when we have been “in crisis” mode.

It is hard to quantify their contribution, except to say that they have helped us maintain our service through ups and downs, and knowing they are on hand provides us all with great peace of mind!
