Gatehouse is a full service agency which specialises in internal communication and employee engagement. For over a decade, Gatehouse has worked with public and private sector organisations in the UK and around the world to make communication more meaningful and win employee support for change.
We design, develop and deliver research programmes, strategies, campaigns, creative and training services that shape cultures, create richer conversations, unlock employee engagement and drive organisational transformation.

OUR SERVICES
Gatehouse is one of Europe’s leading specialists in Internal Communication Audits – we have conducted dozens of them for a host of big name businesses, public sector organisations and NGOs all around the world – surveying well over a million employees. As you would expect from a leader in this field, we have developed a unique and powerful methodology for this. By combining a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques we can paint an accurate and compelling picture of what’s working and what’s missing – delivering the insights you need to create the right strategies and plans. Alongside our ‘deep dive’ IC Audits, we offer a more cost effective ‘IC Check Up’, as well as a host of other research and evaluation services, from specific channel reviews, to regular pulse surveys.
Strategic planning can take many forms – from the development of a complete internal communication ‘master plan’ for your organisation, through to the creation of a more tightly defined channel framework, audience matrix, departmental plan or campaign ‘blueprint’.
This isn’t an off-the-shelf solution. Each client project is different, so the input and resource required from us varies enormously. Before you commission us we will work with you to define your brief and identify the most appropriate way forward.
Our world class creative team are experienced design professionals who can take a brief and from it, create engaging, imaginative and unique channels, content and campaigns that connect on every level. From complete campaigns, infographics and strategy visuals, through to digital channels, film and animation, our in-house studio team can make it happen.
As we specialise in internally-focused campaigns, so much of our work is confidential in nature, which means we can only share a very small selection of our portfolio on a public domain. Gatehouse is one of the biggest names in internal communication and employee engagement, and we’re known for our range of learning and development programmes for leaders, line managers and communication practitioners.
You can choose from dedicated internal communication training for IC practitioners through our Accelerate, BiteSize and RockstarCopy School programmes – while for line managers and leaders, there is The Elements of Engagement, a modular programme designed to enhance the engagement skills of anyone tasked with leading a team.
Many of our clients are working on projects that often have the need for expert interim consultant support, whether for 3,6,9 months or longer. At Gatehouse we work with some of the best interim internal communication, employee engagement and change communication specialists in the business – ranging in experience from mid level manager, through to director/head of level.
All our consultants are quality assured. We vet, test and interview all prospective interim consultants to ensure they meet our high standards and can hit the ground running, ready to apply their expertise to your challenge.
We’ll only provide you with candidates who we think perfectly match your brief and have relevant sector experience. We’re fast and responsive and will usually provide you with one or two CVs within 24-48 hours, meaning that you won’t need to trawl through dozens of CVs that are simply not suitable or relevant.
As all our consultants are an integral part of the extended Gatehouse team, you will also have access to the full range of communication and engagement services we provide – meaning you can be confident that you’ve got not just a great consultant on site, but the full back up and support of our entire team, should you need to scale-up the support.
