Announcing our new Arts Council Collection National Partners

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Arts Council Collection, we’re announcing three new partner galleries.

Each partner will receive investment to give more people in England the chance to experience one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world.

A total of £1.8 million has been awarded to the galleries to host and curate work from the Arts Council Collection, as part of their 70th anniversary celebrations.

Through this investment, Towner Art Gallery, EastbourneBirmingham Museums Trust andThe Walker Art Gallery, National Museums Liverpool, with existing partner Yorkshire Sculpture Park, will curate twenty-four exhibitions drawn from the Collection over the next three years.

The Arts Council Collection, the UK’s most widely seen collection of modern and contemporary art, is celebrating its 70th anniversary during 2016.

Each year, millions of visitors see work from the Arts Council Collection which is loaned out to a wide range of exhibitions across England. In 2015 alone, over 1,800,000 visitors experienced an exhibition from within the Collection.

The celebrations include 8 new commissions that will go on display across the UK throughout 2016.
