The group hope to involve more young men in the project as a gateway to encourage further engagement in the arts and wider festival programme.

Artistic Director, Graham Main said: "It’s great to receive this award - and it makes a real difference. It's something that helps us produce a shift in attitude about who takes part in the arts in Dumfries and Galloway. Most importantly it means we are able to bring our work to an entirely new audience and to communities all across our area. It is helping us create a massive community celebration which promotes equality of opportunity and access to the arts for all."

Also receiving funding today is Arran Theatre and Arts Trust which will use its £7,494 award to provide opportunities for local school children to engage in creative workshops celebrating ‘scots vocabulary’.
