BCS publishes IT Service Management Book (3rd edition)

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT has published IT Service Management (3rd Edition.) Covering the latest thinking in IT service management, this new edition provides a comprehensive introduction for those preparing for their ITSM foundation exam.

Building on their collective, extensive service management experience, the authors of this book walk through essential concepts including the service lifecycle, processes, functions and roles. These are illustrated with real-life examples helping the reader to gain an understanding of the basic principles, terminology and benefits of service management and good practice.

Co-author Ernest Brewster explains: “This new edition is fully updated to reflect the latest advice on service management and therefore includes guidance on the new ITIL® processes of business relationship management, design coordination and transition planning and support. It is also aligned to the updated Foundation syllabus.”

John Sansbury, also a co-author of the book adds: “We expect this to become a valuable training and reference resource for anyone either taking a service management foundation exam or seeking more information on the key service management principles.”

Referencing the most widely used service management frameworks and standards; ITIL, COBIT and ISO/IEC20000, the third edition of this popular title acts as both a tutorial and a reference guide.

It is perfect for ITSM Foundation exam candidates with self-contained chapters which can be read in 5 - 10 minutes. Packed full of exam technique tips, the book also shows how organisations can benefit from improved performance, greater consistency and lower costs.
