The Big Lottery Fund has recently committed £2 million from its international funding to support work that will help rebuild communities in Nepal following the devastating impact of the recent earthquake.

The Fund has engaged with various agencies active in Nepal.  It is clear there is a need for funding to support the rebuilding of communities that complements the immediate disaster relief led by Department for International Development and the Disasters Emergency Committee.

More detail on this additional Big Lottery Funding will be announced shortly, once a clearer picture of what is needed is understood.

The Big Lottery Fund through previous awards is already supporting five projects in Nepal. The Fund has also been in contact with those projects to offer extra support to them at this time of immediate need.
