CASH AWARD FUNDS NEW COMMUNITY PROJECTS

London boroughs are getting a £148 million boost to help improve town centres and transport services.

The annual funding comes from the Mayor and TfL and supports projects which make local roads safer, improve public spaces, provide better walking facilities and make cycling safer and easier.

In central London and the City, schemes include transforming the area around Tottenham Court Road and Gower Street, creating better public spaces and cycling routes through the West End, and improving safety at the busy Bank junction.

Across London, plans also include funding for a new Mini Holland scheme in Stratford, removing the Morden town centre gyratory and creating a new waterside cycle route in Greenwich.
