The CBI commented on the London Finance Commission’s report, one year on from the Raising the capital report 

Lucy Haynes, CBI London Director, said:

“Infrastructure investment is key to London’s growth and we welcome the Mayor’s commitment to addressing the capital’s future needs.

“Going forward, businesses will require clear evidence for how the devolution of a particular power could both encourage local growth and enterprise in London and elsewhere, and maintain the benefits of the UK’s seamless internal market.

“It’s imperative that any change doesn’t lead to distortions in the tax system or additional administrative costs.”
