CCWater responds to Portsmouth Water’s decision to exit non-household retail market

The Consumer Council for Water has responded to Portsmouth Water’s announcement that it has appointed Castle Water to provide billing and associated services to its business customers from 1 April 2016 and intends to exit the non-household retail market from April 2017.

Sir Tony Redmond, London and South East Chair of the Consumer Council for Water (CCWater), said: “Portsmouth Water advised us of their plans and we have worked constructively with the company to ensure that their business customers are given clear and timely information about the changes to their billing arrangements.  We will continue to work with the company – and with Castle Water – to ensure a smooth implementation of these changes, and to resolve quickly any problems that might occur.”
