Call for Evidence for the Triennial Review of the Committee on Mutagenicity
The Department of Health has published an open Call for Evidence to inform its Triennial Review of the Committee on Mutagenicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COM).
The Committee advises government on the mutagenicity of chemicals used in pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other products. The review is looking at the form, functions, governance and performance of the COM.
The Call for Evidence invites views from anyone with an interest in the work of the COM on:

whether COM needs to continue in its current form
-
how it is performing
-
whether COM is providing good value
How to respond
Details of the Call for Evidence and how to contribute are available below. The deadline for responses is 12pm on 15 August 2015.

About the COM
The COM is a Scientific Advisory Committee that advises government on the mutagenicity of chemicals used in pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other products. Formally, it is an advisory non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department of Health. It is supported by a Secretariat provided by Public health England and the FSA.
