Calls for papers for First World War conference

We are inviting researchers to contribute to a lively exchange of ideas at a three-day event at The National Archives in September 2016.

Examining the Home Front during the First World War, the conference will look at those who were left behind, and explore life and society in the immediate aftermath of the war.

The conference will bring together academics, researchers, community groups and museum curators, among others, to generate dynamic discussion and networking opportunities. It will provide an opportunity for delegates to showcase recent research, foster new collaborations across the country and between different groups of researchers.

The closing date for submissions is 15 October 2015. Find out more about the themes we will cover, and how to submit your proposal, in the brief below.
