Change of Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo

Mr Graham Zebedee has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in succession to Ms Diane Corner. Mr Zebedee will take up his appointment during April 2015.

Mr Zebedee joined the FCO in 1999. His career has covered a wide range of roles, including working on Africa, Afghanistan, EU, security, trade, economic, proliferation and visa issues, both in the FCO and in other UK Government Departments. He has previously served in Khartoum, Afghanistan and Brussels.

On his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mr Zebedee said:

A stable, democratic and prosperous DRC is hugely important, not just for the Congolese people, but for the rest of Africa and for the United Kingdom. The UK is committed to helping the DRC succeed, and I am honoured to have the opportunity to play a part in this work as Ambassador in Kinshasa at such an important time in their history.
