Commission welcomes Government’s measures to tackle gender pay gap

Commenting in response to the Government’s announcement on measures to reduce the gender pay gap, a Commission spokesperson, said:

“We are pleased that Government has announced further steps to tackle the gender pay gap. Extending mandatory gender pay reporting for large companies to include bonuses and placing a similar reporting requirement on the public sector in England, takes the initiative an important step further.

“Evidence and transparency are vital to drive progress so we can tackle any discriminatory practices which lie behind pay gaps.''
