Countdown to Explore Export flagship event gets underway

As the countdown gets under way for Explore Export – it is just a month away – businesses are being encouraged to register now for this flagship event to learn more about international trade.

Interest has been high with more than 120 delegates from nearly 100 companies registering to attend and any interested parties are urged to register now to avoid disappointment.

Explore Export will be held on 14 November at City Hall in Cardiff  and companies can register on line at: www.exploreexport.ukti.gov.uk/Cardiff.aspx

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said:

"Exports are not only vitally important for the Welsh economy but can provide businesses in Wales with major new markets for their goods.

“This flagship event forms just part of the Welsh Government’s wider package of support to help and encourage businesses in Wales to explore international trade opportunities. The expert advice on offer at Explore Export will be invaluable for companies either considering exporting for the first time or those who are already exporting but looking to enter new markets.”

Explore Export builds on the success of last year’s International Trade Day and will cover more markets and more export topics through a comprehensive seminar programme and meetings with market experts.

The key feature of Explore Export , which is supported by the Welsh Government and UK Trade & Investment, will see commercial officers from more than 60 overseas markets coming to Cardiff for 1-2-1 meetings with companies.

Featured markets will include traditional export destinations for Welsh products and services, such as USA, Ireland and Germany; high growth markets such as China and India plus emerging and more challenging niche markets such as Mongolia, Nigeria and Algeria.

The export seminars were in high demand last year, and following feedback from attendees, more have been added. The programme will again feature export licences and managing agents and distributors as well as new topics, such as Incoterms, how to access opportunities for aid funded business and export communication.
