Cultivating creativity: Children’s Art Week

From Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 June, organisations all over England are celebrating Children’s Art Week with activities to engage, inspire and excite.

Next week, thousands of children, their teachers and their families will join organisations across the UK for Children’s Art Week.

Led by engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, Children’s Art Week is a growing campaign to encourage children’s creativity. Over 70 organisations will be holding events, across galleries, arts centres, museums, libraries, schools, and community or youth centres.

Last year at Young Art Gallery in Salisbury, visitors could draw on the gallery walls. One mum said of the event: "Usually my daughter says, “What shall I draw?” It’s so nice to see her with this confidence, and just getting on with it.”

engage is part of the Arts Council’s National Portfolio. We believe every child and young person should have the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts, museums and libraries.
