Data informs the case for regional collaboration

Data which informs regional and national collaboration in providing public services has been published

The compendium summarises the demographic, economic and social characteristics of each of the six regional footprint areas, including age profile, population density, employment, life expectancy and levels of recorded crime.

Local Government and Government Business Minister, Lesley Griffiths AM said:

“Public service reform is at the heart of the vision set out in our Programme for Government for a fairer and more prosperous Wales.

“This report will help the public to scrutinise the performance of their local public services and is useful in aligning Local Authority and regional boundaries with other public services such as health and policing.

“It underlines the importance of continuing work to improve public services while our response to the Williams Commission report is being formulated.”
