Printable versionOn 21 April, during the TISPOL road traffic seminar, the participants will share the examples of good practice from the EU Members States’ traffic police and set out further TISPOL action plan and priorities. The road traffic seminar is part of STRIDER Project (Solutions to Reduce Serious Injuries and Death on European Roads) with the aim of reducing the number of seriously injured and dead on European roads.
On 22-23 April the TISPOL Council and Operational Group will analyse the results of the first pan-European speed enforcement marathon and assess its effectiveness, and bring forward proposals for further progress of such activities at European level.
The 24-hour marathon will start on 16 April taking place in most of the EU Member States. During the marathon, police officers will conduct speed checks on the roads. It aims to encourage drivers to choose the driving speed, which is safe for themselves and for other road traffic participants.
The participants of seminar and the media will also have the opportunity to visit an exhibition about the technical equipment that Latvian road police has used in the past and is using today.
