Dutchman extradited over huge cocaine haul

A 67-year-old man from the Netherlands has been charged in connection with the seizure of 108 kilos of cocaine in Scotland.

Henri Van Doesburg, who was arrested in Aalsmeer as part of the multi-agency operation in May, was extradited to the UK earlier this week.

Van Doesburg was charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on 27 August.

Three other men from the Netherlands – Van Doesburg’s son Darryl-Jay, aged 22, his grandson Roderick, aged 22, and Arnold Van Milt, aged 48 – were arrested in Seamill by NCA investigators following the seizure on 9 May. They were subsequently charged with the conspiracy and will be appearing at Leeds Crown Court on 29 August.

The operation involved officers from the Rotterdam Hit and Run Cargo Team, a specialist Border Force deep rummage team and divers from Police
