Emergency Department Weekly Activity and Waiting Times in Scotland: Week Ending 22nd March 2015
An Official Statistics Publication for Scotland.
Today sees the latest publication of weekly Accident and Emergency (A&E) statistics.
This includes total attendances and waiting times for the 32 Emergency Departments in Scotland which provide a 24 hour emergency medicine consultant led service.
Over 80% of NHSScotland’s accident and emergency activity currently takes place in these departments.
Over the week ending 23:59 on Sunday the 22nd March –
- There were 26,047 attendances to Scotland’s 32 Emergency Departments.
- The proportion of attendances to those 32 Emergency Departments that were seen and subsequently admitted, transferred or discharged within 4 hours was 91.7%.
- 190 patients (0.7%) spent more than 8 hours and 9 patients (< 0.1%) spent more than 12 hours in the 32 Emergency Departments.
The figures released today were produced by independent statistical staff free from any political interference, in accordance with professional standards set out in the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
