Explore the ends of the DLR

With contactless payment, it's now easier than ever to explore the Capital. There are many fascinating things to discover and fun days out to be had in London - all without leaving the DLR network.

Here are some ideas to try out at two DLR destinations.

Lewisham

Whether you're visiting Lewisham in the morning, afternoon, evening or all day, there is plenty to do to keep you entertained. Wind down after a busy week with a trip to the beautiful Lewisham open spaces, making sure you visit Mountsfield Park. Here, you can have a spot of tea in the Stainton tea rooms, take a picnic to eat on the green field, and on Saturday 11 July you can see Lewisham People's Day, South East London's biggest free festival. Hear music by top performers, watch live performances including theatre and magic shows, and make sure you leave time to visit the wide range of food stalls.

When you're ready for dinner, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to cater for every palate. If the night is still young, soak up some of the live music at local pub Dirty South.

Stratford

Join the ongoing sense of athletic pride and spirit in Stratford by spending some time at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Take a dip in the pool, join an exercise class, challenge a friend to a game of tennis or make the most of the
free and low-cost family activities.

More of a supporter than a competitor? Learn where Team GB won medals, broke world records, and rewrote history books in 2012 by reading the information plaques in the park.

If you love heights, journey to the top of the Arcelormittal orbit for stunning views of the area.

To get to the Olympic Park, you will need to walk through Westfield Stratford. For shopaholics, this is the perfect place to have some retail therapy and take a well deserved break in one of the many bars and restaurants. Once the whole family has explored the wonders of the area, take a trip to the Theatre Royal Stratford East, where you can enjoy live theatre and a great experience.
