Family bus sculpture weekend

Head down to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this weekend for a free family fun event and the chance to see dozens of bus sculptures created for Year of the Bus.

It is one of the few occasions when all 60 sculptures will be together in one place - and the last time they will be displayed before being auctioned for charity next month.

Painted and adorned by artists, the bus sculptures have been capturing the imagination of people in London since October when they went on display across the capital and became the focal points of four specially-created walking trails.

They now take centre stage on Saturday 24 January and Sunday 25 Januart at the Olympic Park (10:00 -
16:00) when families can enjoy free art, music, face painting and much more.

Visitors will be able to meet some of the artists and see a final bus sculpture being painted. They can take a look at the Year of the Bus exhibition on board a New Routemaster and hop on to the restored wartime Battle Bus' which has just returned from its tour of the battlefields of France and Belgium.

The event is the culmination of Year of the Bus celebrations which have highlighted the special role that London buses make in keeping the Capital moving.
