Family friendly theatre show Three Keepers returns for a national tour

This spring enjoy WinterWalker’s family-friendly physical theatre show as it sets off on a national tour.

Three Keepers is back by popular demand following its success in the East Midlands in 2015. The tour is supported by funding from our Grants for the Arts programme.

Our Midlands Area Director Peter Knott said: “We’re delighted to be investing in the national tour of Three Keepers following its success in 2015. One of our ambitions is for family audiences of all ages to enjoy great arts and culture together. It’s great to see the Arts Council’s Lottery investment making this happen.”

Set around Flounder Rock Lighthouse, Three Keepers is a silent comedy for the whole family.

It blends physical theatreoriginal musicinventive dance and slapstick comedy to tell the tale of Old Tom, Dick and Young ‘Arry.

Director Kitty Winter said: “We’re delighted that there has been such demand for Three Keepers and that we are returning with a second tour. We have been overwhelmed by our previous audiences’ reactions to the show, so it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to share the story with more families across the country.”

Commenting on what people can expect from the show composer Wayne Walker-Allen said: “We have always felt that there isn’t enough good theatre out there for the whole family. It was a really important part of the devising process that we created a show that could be equally enjoyed by children, parents and grandparents.

“Three Keepers is a silly, nostalgic and fun coming-of age story that charms adults and children alike, but, saying that, you don’t have to be a child, or even bring a child, to enjoy the show!”
