Final chance to submit 2015/16 SAAS applications

Issued on behalf of the Student Awards Agency Scotland.

Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) would like to remind any students who have not yet submitted their 2015-2016 application for funding and tuition fees, to do so now and before the 31 March 2016 closing date.

With less than two weeks to go until SAAS closes for this academic session there are still a number of students who have yet to apply. If these students do not submit their applications and supporting evidence by 31 March 2016 they risk receiving no funding.

SAAS Chief Executive, Paul Lowe, said “at SAAS we want to make sure that all students receive the funding and tuition fees that they’re entitled to. I would encourage students to visit our website www.saas.gov.uk to submit their applications, or for those who are unsure - to call our dedicated helpline on 0300 555 0505 where staff will be happy to help. It is vital that fully completed applications for 2015-2016 are received by 31 March 2016, to ensure that all funding is paid."

Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning said “The importance of submitting an accurate application to SAAS cannot be understated, and I would urge all students to apply now to ensure they don’t miss out. The Scottish Government is committed to supporting students in higher education and helping them to succeed in their academic careers by offering the right level of funding.”
