Finalists announced in the 2015 BCS and Computing UK IT Industry Awards

Marks and Spencers, John Lewis, Camelot UK Lotteries, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Specsavers, Royal Opera House and Dell, Heathrow Airport and Fujitsu are among the organisations announced as finalists in the 2015 UK IT Industry Awards. The annual Awards organised and run by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Computing, are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.

Paul Fletcher, Group CEO, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says: “As the Chartered Institute for IT I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists in our UK IT Industry Awards. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering economic and societal benefit.”

The categories provide an opportunity for organisations and individuals involved in IT across the public, not for profit and commercial sectors. This year the Awards feature 25 categories that focus on the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months and include awards such as Digital Professional, IT Apprentice, IT Team, Digital Project and Workplace Transformation.

Finalists now face the second round of rigorous judging with an interview or presentation session in front of expert judges at the Madejski Stadium in September as they compete for the title of winner in their category. The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 18 November, at Battersea Park Arena.

Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing adds: “I would like to congratulate the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged by a panel of peers and experts, and to be announced as a finalist really is a great achievement.”
