Finalists announced in the 2016 BCS and Computing UK IT Industry Awards
BBC Learning, British Gas, Fairtrade Foundation, IBM, LateRooms.com, National Grid and Virgin Media are among the organisations announced as finalists in the 2016 UK IT Industry Awards. The annual Awards organised and run by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Computing, are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
Paul Fletcher, Group Chief Executive Officer of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: “Congratulations to all the finalists in the 2016 UK IT Industry Awards - their talents should be truly celebrated. BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is here to make IT good for society and the Awards are a major part of this. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering economic and societal benefit.”
This year, the Awards feature 25 categories that focus on the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months and include awards such as Security Innovation, Digital Professional, IT Apprentice, IT Team, Mobile App and Workplace Transformation.
Finalists now face the second round of rigorous judging with an interview or presentation session in front of expert judges at the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in September as they compete for the title of winner in their category. The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 16 November, at Battersea Park Arena.
Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing adds: “I would like to congratulate the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged by a panel of peers and experts, and to be announced as a finalist really is a great achievement.”
