Foreign Office Minister condemns terrorist attack in Tunisia

Foreign Office Minister condemns terrorist attack in Tunisia and offers condolences to the victims and their families. 

Speaking after the attack which took place on 16 July, the Minister for the Middle East and North Africa Tobias Ellwood said:

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the deaths and injuries sustained by Tunisia’s security forces in the Chaambi Mountain region of Tunisia. My thoughts are with the families of the victims. I condemn this cowardly attack and reaffirm the UK’s solidarity with the Tunisian government and people in their fight against terrorism.

I also welcome the progress that Tunisia continues to make in its democratic transition. The UK will continue to support this process.
