Get involved in an international initiative on next generation sequencing

The FSA, with help of colleagues from Fera, is organising the next Global Microbial Identifier (GMI) meeting on 11-12 September 2014. You are invited.

GMI is an international taskforce of approximately 200 scientists and other stakeholders from more than 30 countries who share an aim of making novel genomic technologies and informatics tools available for improved global infectious disease diagnostics, surveillance and research. The FSA sees huge promise in the application of such approaches in helping it to tackle key issues in food safety microbiology.

The next meeting, on 11-12 September 2014, will consist of a range of case study presentations from international experts, together with working group sessions to consider key issues in depth and look for ways to help drive the initiative forward. New perspectives and relevant expertise are always encouraged and previous participation in GMI activities is not necessary to be able to contribute.

How to attend

This meeting is now open for wider registration. If you would like to join, and for more information on the event, please visit: http://fera.co.uk/events/GMI2014/
