Good and Outstanding GP practices
Our specialist teams inspect the quality of care provided by England's GP practices and give them a rating under our new inspection approach.
We published inspection reports on 72 GP practices yesterday. Of these, 90% have been rated as Good (65 practices).
Professor Steve Field, Chief Inspector of General Practice said: “We know that the vast majority of England's GPs are providing a service which is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. If that is what we find on inspection - we give it a rating of Good, and I congratulate the GPs and staff in these practices."
Three practices were rated Outstanding, you can read more about each one:
- Dr M. R. Spencer and Partners, North Derbyshire
- Wigton Group Medical Practice, Cumbria
- Chiddingfold Surgery, Guildford and Waverley
Four practices were rated as Requires improvement.
