Grab your boots for an autumn amble

Londoners can join guided walks around the Capital for free next month during TfL's Autumn Ambles weekend.

The 37 walks, taking place on 17 and 18 October, showcase some of the city's best attractions, parks, woodland, rivers and open spaces and range from short strolls to taxing trails.

Highlights include a walk from City Hall to Canary Wharf via Tower Bridge, an excursion around the back streets and alleys of the West End, a tour through historic Bloomsbury and a leisurely promenade along the Regent's Canal.

There will also be a walk along part of the Capital Ring, including a ferry ride across the Thames where ramblers can explore the Royal Docks and Beckton Park before reaching the Lower Lea Valley to see the largest remaining 18th century tidal mill at Three Mills.

All walks are led by experienced Walk London guides, start within easy reach of public transport and there's no need to book. For details of all the walks, visit the Walk London website.
