Greater Manchester Police officer to face gross misconduct hearing

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer is to face a gross misconduct hearing following an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation into alleged discriminatory behaviour during a multi-agency operation in Rusholme in 2013.

The IPCC investigated multiple complaints of discrimination and formed the view that PC Christopher Schofield should face disciplinary proceedings.

GMP accepted the findings of the IPCC investigation and PC Schofield will face a gross misconduct hearing, held by the force, from 4 July 2016.
