Homeless Link and Sitra have merged

Blog posted by: Mike Wilson, 7 April 2016.

Last month our boards of trustees agreed to proceed to a full merger of Homeless Link and Sitra with effect from 1st April 2016.

Last December we announced that from 1st January 2016 we would join forces with Sitra to offer excellent support, advice, training and consultancy to the homelessness and supported housing sectors. Since then, the two organisations have worked together in a group structure on a range of shared issues.

The decision to move from a group structure to a single merged organisation has been driven primarily by administrative and governance considerations, but the merger will also create the opportunity for both organisations to work together even more closely and effectively to benefit members, customers, and partners and to ensure a stronger voice for our sectors.

All members of Homeless Link and Sitra are now members of Homeless Link and have full access to membership benefits. This merger brings together over 850 member organisations into a single body of membership. It will enable us to provide a strong voice not only on homelessness, but also on the broader housing with support and care sector.

Homeless Link will continue to focus on bringing about an end to homelessness through our policy, practice, training, events and consultancy services. Sitra will continue to operate as a distinct brand, retaining its name, logo and the current range of services. It will still focus on the broader housing with support and care sector, encompassing the same range of client and customer base and the full range of membership, training, consultancy, policy representation and advice as it has done for over 30 years.

Members of both Homeless Link and Sitra will have full access to both Homeless Link and Sitra branded services and member benefits.
