Homeless Link launches a new offer to the supported housing sector

Blog posted by: Caroline Bernard, Monday, 13 March 2017.

Following on from the recent publication of Future Focus outlining five key principles for a sustainable supported housing sector, Homeless Link is today (Tuesday 14 March) launching the Supported Housing Alliance programme at its Supported Housing: shaping the future conference in London.

Supported housing alliance

Homeless Link merged with Sitra in April 2016. The Supported Housing Alliance will continue Sitra’s legacy of sector leadership, policy influencing and promoting best practice through training and consultancy on housing, health, care and support, but with a renewed focus. Embedding the Alliance within Homeless Link will ensure that a focus on joint priorities will allow the newly merged organisation to have the greatest impact.

Rick Henderson, Chief Executive of Homeless Link, comments:

"I am pleased to announce the creation of this new initiative which is designed to promote the interests, and meet the needs, of supported housing residents and providers in England. The Supported Housing Alliance will encompass a whole range of benefits that in time will grow to meet the needs of our members across the spectrum of housing, care, health and support.

"We are excited by the opportunity this new initiative offers to truly embed its work across Homeless Link and ensure we can build on Sitra’s achievements at this important juncture for supported housing.

"I remain committed to working with our members and stakeholders to end homelessness and to ensure that everyone has a place to call home and the support they need to keep it. The Supported Housing Alliance will enable us to have an even greater focus on promoting the vital role that supported housing plays in achieving this goal."
