IPCC appeal for witnesses following fatal road traffic incident in Birmingham

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident in Birmingham last week.

Investigators will be issuing leaflets and speaking to people at the scene of the collision in Bristol Street South and the surrounding area between 6 and 8 pm yesterday (Wednesday 8 April), marking a week since a black Peugeot collided with a tree at around 11pm on 1 April. A West Midlands Police dog handling vehicle had been in pursuit of the car leading up to the collision.

Investigators have been in contact with the family and are updating them on the progress of the investigation.

IPCC investigators were deployed to the scene and to Park Lane police station. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the IPCC on 0800 096 9070 or email bristolroad@ipcc.gsi.gov.uk
