IPCC begins independent investigation into police shooting in Dunmow, Essex

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has begun an independent investigation after a man was shot and injured by armed police in Dunmow, Essex recently (Tuesday).

 IPCC investigators were deployed to the police post-incident procedures and to the scene at Knights Way, Dunmow recently. Two non-police issue suspected firearms have been recovered.

 The man was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

referral from Essex Police was received at around 10.30 pm tuesday.

The IPCC is in the early stages of investigating this incident.
