IPCC investigating Thames Valley Police’s response to emergency call in Aylesbury

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating how Thames Valley Police (TVP) responded to an emergency call prior to a 44-year old woman’s body being found in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

Around midnight on Saturday 13 September, a 999 call was made from the house of Mrs Susan James, which dropped out before any details were provided. When officers attended the house shortly before 6.00am they found Mrs James deceased. Thames Valley Police are not treating her death as suspicious.

IPCC Associate Commissioner Guido Liguori said: "My condolences go out to Susan’s family and friends for their loss. Our investigation will consider the force’s response to the call including the circumstances surrounding the delay in police attending the house.”

An inquest opened and adjourned at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court on Friday 19 September.
