IPCC investigating allegation of false disclosure at GMP employment tribunal

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating an allegation that false information was disclosed by Greater Manchester Police during an employment tribunal for one of its officers.

The officer claims that during the tribunal in February 2015 false information about his conduct was disclosed. The officer further claims that the source of the false information was officers in Greater Manchester Police's Professional Standards Branch.

The allegations were referred to the IPCC by Greater Manchester Police and an independent investigation has now begun.
