IPCC investigating police response to India Chipchase missing person report

The IPCC has begun an independent investigation into the Northamptonshire Police response to the missing persons report for India Chipchase. India was reported missing by her family on 30 January 2016, and her body was found the following day. A 51 year old man has been charged with her murder.

The investigation is in its early stages and will initially focus on the actions and decisions made by police dealing with the missing persons report made by India's family.

IPCC Associate Commissioner Guido Liguori said:

"My thoughts are with India's family at this difficult time. We will be undertaking a thorough investigation into how police responded to the concerns for India following her disappearance."
