Industrial Opportunities with the Square Kilometre Array

On the 10th July at the Sci-Tech Daresbury Campus, following on from the regular monthly Sci-Tech Daresbury Business Breakfast networking event, there was a short event to promote industrial opportunities with SKA. The speakers at the event were, Dr Matthew Johnson (Head of the UK SKA Project Office, STFC), Dr Keith Grainge (Associate Director (SKA) of Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics) and Dr Mike Ashworth (Head of Application Performance Engineering, Scientific Computing Department, STFC).

The workshop aimed to pull together the interest from both the academia and industry in order to facilitate knowledge exchange. The workshop covered challenges the SKA project will need to tackle, technologies and expertise being sought from industry and details of how companies can engage with the SKA project.
