Invitation to Annual Science Report Launch

The Food Standards Agency is hosting the launch of its 2013-2014 Annual Science Report. The event ‘The benefits and risks of a complex food chain’ is taking place on 17 September at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London. 

The highlight of the evening will be a keynote address from Professor Charles Godfray CBE FRS, Hope Professor at the University of Oxford and Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Food. Professor Godfray’s presentation will address ‘Food Security Challenges; for the FSA and for all of us’.

The event will also welcome Professor Guy Poppy as the FSA’s Chief Scientific Adviser. Professor Poppy will talk about his early thinking on some of the major challenges to food safety and standards that need to be considered as the FSA develops its strategy to 2020.
