JRF statement on Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust and Alistair Carmichael MP

Clarification on Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust and Alistair Carmichael MP

A JRF spokesperson said: Some recent media reports have linked the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust’s decision to award a grant to MP Alistair Carmichael. This is inaccurate.

The funding was awarded by JRRT, which is an independent and completely separate organisation to JRF. JRF has no connection with and has never given money to Mr Carmichael, or any politician, as JRF is a politically independent organisation which funds research, policy and practice on social issues in the UK.
