Jude Boutle has been appointed the Town Champion for Llandrindod Wells - a key post to help take forward some of the central actions to stimulate sustainable economic growth in the town, identified by the Business Group, as part of the Powys Local Growth Zones initiative.

Jude has worked in a range of positions in the affordable housing sector over the past 25 years, including management, development and community regeneration roles.

She takes up her twelve month contract in January and will report to, and work with, the Business Group to drive forward priorities of the Economic Regeneration Action Plan for Llandrindod Wells.

Formally announcing the appointment, Economy Minister Edwina Hart said:

“Llandrindod Wells is piloting a business led approach to address the economic sustainability of the town which is part of a wider package of support being delivered to the Powys Local Growth Zone.

“The Business Group is currently outlining their  priorities and the appointment of Jude as the Town Champion is key to help drive these forward. The Welsh Government is providing funding to support this pilot approach  and I shall be following developments with interest.”

Commenting on her appointment Jude said:

“I am really excited about becoming  the Llandrindod Wells Town Champion in the New Year. I’m really enthusiastic about working alongside the Business Group and wider partners to deliver key elements of the Economic Regeneration Plan for the town”.

Justin Baird Murray, Chair of the Llandrindod Wells Business Group and owner of the Metropole Hotel said:

“The Business Group is delighted that Jude has taken up the post of Town Champion, an appointment that has been warmly welcomed by the local community. Using the business plan the group prepared prior to Jude's appointment as our guide we now look forward to identifying priority work areas with Jude and to hit the ground running in January.”
