Last chance to see First World War transport exhibition

London Transport Museum's popular exhibition, 'Goodbye Piccadilly - from Home Front to Western Front,' has been extended by six weeks.

Now open until 19 April, the display shows the museum's perspective on the First World War.

It explores how the conflict accelerated social change and how it impacted on the lives of Londoners. It also delves into the essential role undertaken by bus service staff and buses, both in the UK and abroad.

There is a focus on the role of women in the war who were employed on a large scale to do the jobs previously done by men, as well as some rarely seen war time propaganda posters.

Guided tours run Friday to Sunday at 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00 and are free with a general admissions ticket.

  • Tickets cost £16 (concessions £13.50). For more information, visit www.ltmuseum.co.uk
