Merseyside Police officer to stand trial for driving offence
A Merseyside Police officer, charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation, will stand trial in October.
Police Constable (PC) James Ellerton, 29, who denies the offence, was subject to an IPCC independent investigation into a collision between a motorcyclist and a police vehicle on Park Road, Liverpool, on 14 September 2015.
PC Ellerton pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 17 May. He will stand trial on 31 October 2016.
