Minister praises councils for joint venture

Public Services Minister, Leighton Andrews will highlight the benefits of Councils working together when he speaks at the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health conference today.

A ground breaking software framework contract to improve the way councils manage public protection services in Wales will be announced at the conference. The software will be used by 19 of the 22 local authorities in Wales.

As well as providing savings, the agreement will make sure that information can be shared and used across Authorities and will allow for the development of all Wales data.

The Minister said:

“This agreement is a good example of Welsh public services working together, using digital technology to make savings and improve service delivery.”
