New member appointed to Ofcom’s Advisory Committee for Wales

Ofcom yesterday announced the appointment of a new member to the Advisory Committee for Wales

Hywel Wiliam will attend his first meeting on 24 September at the Advisory Committee for Wales’ fiftieth meeting.

Hywel has worked as a regulator for more than 16 years, initially with the Independent Television Commission and subsequently with Ofcom as Head of Broadcasting and Telecommunications. In 2011, Hywel joined Advisors in Media (AIM), a media consultancy. Hywel is Administrator for the RTS Wales Centre and a Member of the Creative Skillset Cymru National Advisory Board.

John Davies, Chair of Ofcom’s Advisory Committee for Wales, said: “Hywel has a wealth of knowledge and experience of broadcasting and telecoms. This will undoubtedly benefit the Committee in its primary role in advising Ofcom about the interests and opinions, in relation to communications matters, of people living in Wales.”

ENDS.
